Merlin, a small hamlet northeast of Grants Pass, is home to many outfitters and fishing guides. It is for these reasons and also the fact that Merlin is close to the 84-mile segment of the Rogue River designated as a wild and scenic river by Congress under the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968, that Merlin is referred to as the Gateway to the Wild and Scenic Rogue River.

Moreover, their gourmet burgers bursting with tropical flavors will leave you amazed. Also, don't forget that you can indulge in wild salmon, rib-eye steak, or a tasty salad at any time.
 
Fishing and rafting on the white waters are just some of the activities available in the Merlin area. Among the best hiking trails around are the famous Rogue River Wild and Scenic Trail, which runs 40 miles from Grave Creek, also known as "the perfect example of a covered bridge" above Merlin to Foster Bar along the Wild and Scenic section of the river.
